What to Expect When You Hire Pool Leak Detection LLC

Every inspection follows a structured, methodical process to ensure no leak is overlooked.


Above-Ground Pool Leak Detection

1. Inspect all equipment, fittings, and visible connections for active leaks.
2. Check the surrounding area for signs of water loss, including soft or muddy ground.
3. Use professional ultrasound equipment to scan liner openings and penetrations.
4. Perform a full underwater inspection using commercial-grade diving equipment.
5. Scan the entire liner surface and all pool components for holes or tears.
6. Document leaks with photos and/or video when requested.
7. Review findings with the client and obtain approval before repairs.
8. Repair eligible liner leaks using high-quality, professional-grade patch materials.

Typical inspection and repair time: 1–2 hours.

If a leak is not located during the initial visit, we will return to recheck the pool at no additional visit cost (repair charges may apply if a leak is later found).


Inground Pool & Spa Leak Detection

For inground pools—with or without attached spas—our process includes:

  1. Inspect and run the plumbing system while checking equipment pad
  2. Perform a detailed visual inspection around the pool and spa for signs of
  3. Use advanced sound technology to test:
    • Suction lines (skimmers, main drains, vacuum lines, wall drains)
    • Return lines
    • Pool lights
    • Step faceplates (if applicable)
    • Liner seams (for vinyl liner pools)
  4. Conduct static pressure testing on plumbing lines using professional test
  5. Perform a full underwater inspection of the pool
  6. Dye-test suspected leak points, including:
    • Skimmers
    • Return fittings
    • Pool lights
    • Main drains
    • Hydrostatic valves
    • Steps, ladders, and penetrations
  7. Document confirmed leaks with photos and/or
  8. Review findings with the client and proceed with repairs upon

For plumbing leaks, pressure testing combined with air, water, and sound technology allows us to pinpoint the exact leak location, minimizing deck or yard disruption.

As with all inspections, if a leak is not identified during the initial visit, we will return for a follow-up inspection at no additional visit cost.
